Welcome to the Forest Elf Files!
Hi there! I’m Eowyn (yes, that is my real name), the Forest Elf behind this blog. By day, I’m the Forest Elf of WikiTree (yes, that’s my actual title!), where I help build a global family tree connecting people across the world. By passion, I’m a genealogist with a deep love for uncovering the stories that shape our lives and celebrating the connections that make us who we are.
Genealogy isn’t just a hobby for me—it’s a way to honor those who came before us, preserve their legacy, and create something meaningful for future generations. Whether I’m untangling a tricky family mystery, diving into historical records, or connecting with other researchers, I’m always on the hunt for the next story waiting to be told.
Here on the Forest Elf Files, I share everything from practical genealogy tips to creative projects, as well as highlights from the incredible genealogy community. I aim to make family history accessible, inspiring, and maybe even a little magical.
When I’m not knee-deep in ancestral records, you can usually find me working on my latest creative writing project, dreaming up new ideas for connecting communities, or exploring the fascinating stories hidden in history.
I hope this blog inspires you to dive deeper into your own family history, uncover new stories, and maybe even share a few of your own. Let’s keep the spirit of our ancestors alive—one story, one connection, and one discovery at a time!
